5RB 1009-41 crossbars - awesome!
By R. Nelson
I had an old Thule ski rack that I had used on the factory crossbars on a prior vehicle. Now, I own a Nissan Xterra with very difficult to fit crossbars, and a new Nissan Quest minivan with roof rails but no crossbars. I wanted to at least be able to use my old Thule ski carrier with the new van. These were my options:

-buy factory crossbars, which retail for about $300.
-buy a Thule or Yakima crossbar system for about the same price.
-give these bars a shot, and see if I could make the old Thule ski carrier work

I opted for #3, and am extremely glad I did. The bars fit the Quest perfectly, look great, and are easy to secure with NO TOOLS. And it just turns out that the old mounts(that Thule no longer makes) that I had used with my Ford Explorer factory bars about 10 years ago are going to work on these bars to put the ski rack on.

Given the size of the roof rails on the XTerra, it was a toss up in my mind whether or not the se would fit, but was only going to be a bonus given the compatibility with the minivan. Turns out they just squeeze onto the XTerra roof rails, allowing me to now use the rack on either vehicle.

Bottom line - for $70 I have a solution that would have cost 4x or 5x that amount if done through factory, or Thule/Yakima equipment. Again, the bars are good looking, low profile, and work with my old ski carrier. Great all around!

5Just What I Needed
By Joey
I own a Jeep Liberty and wasn't sure what I needed for cross rails. I took a chance and ordered these and I am very happy I did. They took all of 5 minutes to install and are very sturdy. There is a little whistling at high speeds (65-70 mph) when you have nothing on them, but nothing like I expected. It's usually only noticeable when it is also windy outside.

I haven't yet used the cargo box on them but we will be taking a very long road trip in the upcoming weeks when we will really test these out, but so far I am thrilled.

3Price is Right
By Shopathome
Got these instead of the OEM bars since they were much cheaper. If I was going to keep them on the roof year-round I would probably spring for the other ones since they look better and are lower. There is some wind noise when I have them on, but not too bad. I put a Yakima 21 skybox on there and they handle it with just a little sag.
